Hi, I’m Louise, a mum to two girls, wife of 15 years to my gorgeous husband and lover of photography (and chocolate and champagne), based on the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia. I am an Emerging Member of the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography).
Way back, I used to work in the Advertising industry which was fun for awhile! But when Mark and I married we sold everything and took off backpacking around the world for 2 years. We both love to travel, love good food and wine, so we slept cheap and ate well! We returned to Sydney and decided to start a family. We don’t get to travel so much anymore but living where we do is a bit like a holiday every day. We love to cook and we have a budding junior masterchef in the house. We are also part of our local community garden and the kids love to plant and eat what they sow.
Photography has always been part of my life, since I started using my dad’s old film camera in high school. It doesn’t work anymore but I will never part with it. Before traveling I did a Diploma in Commercial Photography to perfect my self-taught skills and have been shooting ever since. I regularly attend photography workshops to update my craft and try new things.
My kids have been great models and are getting wise to my “posing tricks”. Having so many photos of my own kids has made me appreciate the images of my childhood. My family live all over Australia and the world, and whenever we are together a camera is stuck to my face. Those rare moments we share together are relived over and over in slideshows, photos on the walls and photo books. The image on my home page is of my two girls with my dad – who lives in England. A rare and special moment.
